editing_guidelines:start

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the wiki! Please read these rules and guidelines before you start editing anything.

1. No Trolling or Shitposting

While this wiki will no doubt help the existing player base, it is intended to be a place for new players to explore the models and their interactions with one another. Edits that suggest intentionally bad practices like bringing 4 Necroscourge Nexus buildings with General Hondo will be deleted, and the offending user will be banned.

2. Respect Others

Not everyone editing the wiki will agree with one another. That's okay, and multiple perspectives about a model are allowed to coexist within the same page. DO NOT DELETE AN EDIT JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T AGREE WITH IT. Offer an alternative in the next line with language like, “Some players also like to…”

3. Editing Rules

If you find a typo or inconsistency between a card and the typed out rules on the wiki, you may fix it with the “Minor Changes” check box. If rules are found to be intentionally misrepresented, the edit will be fixed, and the offending user will be banned.

4. Editing Strategy

The Strategy section is intended to be about how a model is used in the game. Maybe you would like to talk about the implications of an alpha screen clear or how to prioritize actions with The Magistrate's Objection.

5. Editing List Building

The List Building section is where you can recommend partners for monsters or groups of units that work well together. Maybe you want to make sure people know that Aggressive units like the Lake Serpent and Humusoid are great with Quorum units for a compact building securing package.

7. Peanut Butter Stamp

While players sometimes disagree about exactly what constitutes a peanut butter monster, the criteria set forth by SmashU is very specific. DO NOT REMOVE OR ADD THE PEANUT BUTTER STAMP OR STRATEGY TEXT.

Example:

The Peanut Butter Stamp - This monster is considered a peanut butter monster as it pairs well with just about any other monster in the game. It has three things going for it that allow this: high-mobility, 11+ health, and a way to clear out enemy units or buildings preventing you from aligning with your opponent's monster while also being able to make a throw or body slam power attack in the same turn. That's quite the mouthful! If you want to learn more, check out the Monsters 101: Pairings article.

8. Use of Jargon

This website is intended for all MonPoc players or even people looking to get into the game. Feel free to use terms like “screening” or “breakpoints”, but try to describe what you mean as well. However, please avoid nicknames without first explaining what the nickname means. For instance, if you want to talk about the Clown Car unit package, be sure to let readers know you mean the Necroscourge units.

9. Broke Something?

Don't worry about it! The website is backed up in multiple places, so it can be fixed. Just send an email to smashvilleuniversity@gmail.com

How to Edit

Most of the edits you will want to make will be simple text-based things, so not much technical knowledge about Dokuwiki (the platform this wiki uses) is necessary. If you want to make an edit, make an account first. This is intended to help prevent spam bots from ruining the information here. I would recommend making edits on your computer rather than on you phone as the mobile interface is not ideal. Once you have an account, you can make edits by clicking on the gray pencil in the upper righthand corner of the page. This will generate a text box that you can then edit.

Please avoid changing the format of the page, but if you do accidentally mess something up, you can either contact me at smashvilleuniversity@gmail.com or look at another page with the same model type to see how the formatting is supposed to be executed.

As a preventative measure, normal users cannot create new pages, delete pages, or upload anything to the website.

Editors should focus on the strategy and list building sections as these are really what separates this wiki from the official one.

If you would like to backlink to a model or rule, use this format:

[[Model or rule name:|Model or rule name]]

Example:

   Code: "[[Stomatavorus Rex:|Stomatavorus Rex]]"

Generates: Stomatavorus Rex
